The latest issue also reveals the connection between Loki and Shanks and how they know each other.
One Piece Chapter 1131 reveals Loki’s intention of killing Shanks, whom he hates from the bottom of his heart. After he helped the Giants capture Loki and chained him to Treasure Tree Adam, he always wanted to destroy Shanks. However, the chains are made with Sea Prision Stone, which nullifies his strength.
Further, the latest issue of One Piece reveals Loki’s bounty of 2.6 billion berries which is special since Loki does not leave the Elbaf and capture any territory. Fans can expect their reunion soon. Before the most awaited Straw Hats reunion, Oda introduced fans to Loki’s bounty and his nature. Though, he claimed himself a Sun God and was the destruction of the world. However, it is unclear what his actual intention is.
Chapter 1131 reveals the connection between Loki and Shanks. Loki says,
If you mean that coward of a pirate, he certainly did.
It is enough to prove that Loki is far superior to Shanks and even calls him a coward, which no one dares to say. But he was doing this to get the protagonist’s attention, which he certainly gets, and a punch from him. Luckily, Loki was chained with Sea Prison Stone, which nullified his power so Luffy could punch him without getting hurt.

One Piece Chapter 1131: Recap
As mentioned, Chapter 1131 picks up where the previous left off, with the revelation of Loki, the “Prince of Elbaf,” chained to Treasure Tree Adam. He is one of the strongest One Piece characters and perhaps the only one who directly gets 2.6 billion berries bounty on his head from the World Government. Currently, he is in the underworld of Elbaf, where the criminal sends. Loki is imprisoned because of killing the King for the legendary Devil Fruit. According to Giants, the Devil Fruit passed to the royal bloodline from generation. However, he killed the King, angered the Giants, causing him to get chained and stuck in a place for six years.
In Chapter 1131, Loki arrives in the underworld and meets Loki — however, before the “Prince of Elbaf” speaks, Luffy continuously talking Elbaf and the Giants, which angers Loki. With a harsh tone, Loki says,
I am the Sun God enshrined in the legend of this land. You will not speak without my permission human.
This was the second time Loki claimed to be the Sun God and instructed Luffy to remain silent. It was strange since fans of the series already knew who the Sun God was. However, everyone in the Elbaf claims to be the Sun God, even the Road. But it is not the case since Luffy is the actual reincarnation of the Sun God.
As the chapter progresses, Luffy asks why he was chained and stuck in the place. To which Loki replied
No man chooses to be chained.
He considered himself the strongest in the Elbaf, but six years earlier, the Giants caught me and imprisoned Loki in the Treasure Tree Adam. The chains are of Sea Prision Stone, which robs his strength. So he asked if he wanted to make a deal.
In return, Loki promised to eliminate any pirate crew of his choosing. However, there’s no forcing, and do whatever he wants. However, the “Prince of Elbaf” warns to be cautious, as this is the lowest level of Elbaf, and the only criminal was sent here.
In Chapter 1131, Loki mentioned Shanks, which sparked Luffy’s curiosity. He asked about Shanks, and he said,
He is a coward.
After hearing bad about Shanks from Loki, Luffy gets made and launches a Gear 5 punch on him. Luffy says,
Why was Shanks here? Why did he come to see you?
This conversation between Loki and Luffy raises many questions. One question is whether Shanks will help the Giants capture the “Prince of Elbaf.” Oda hadn’t revealed the connection between the “Prince of ELbaf” and Shanks in the manga. There’s a two-week break before the official release of One Piece Chapter 1132. Fans have to depend on the theories. According to a popular theory, the “Prince of Elbaf” got caught six years earlier, and at the same time, Shanks became the Empire of the Sea.
