The Story Behind the Buzz
Based on the ongoing manga by writer Chinjao Musume and artist Tama Nogami, this series has been captivating readers since February 2021 on Kodansha’s YanMaga Web. The “luxurious full-color strong edition” volumes have been flying off shelves since June 2024!
Tsuyoshi, a 22-year-old third-year university student, spends his days juggling classes and his food delivery job, with a can of strong chuuhai always within reach. Living alone in a small apartment, his mundane routine takes an unexpected turn when he finds himself entangled with Yui Kooriyama, a married woman he has admired since childhood. What begins as an innocent connection soon escalates into something far more intimate, blurring the lines between longing, desire, and morality.
Set against a backdrop of quiet nights and stolen moments, this risqué yet comedic tale explores the thrill and complications of an illicit romance—where every encounter is both intoxicating and dangerous.
Fun fact: Chūhai originally stood for “Shōchū Highball” – it’s that perfect mix of shōchū and carbonated water that’s become a summer staple in Japan! 🥃

This anime is definitely targeted at mature audiences (18+). The themes revolve around adult relationships and situations, so it’s not suitable for younger viewers. The Deregula edition especially contains uncensored content.
