Virgin Punk Anime: Trailer Release and Release Date

The original anime – Virgin Punk is expected to be released in early summer 2025. The first part of Virgin Punk titled ‘Clockwork Girl’ is a new story and not any adaptation of a manhwa or manga. The anime was announced as one of the most expected anime of 2025 at the Aniplex Online Fest 2024.

Studio SHAFT is back with a bang in 2025 with the highly anticipated ‘Virgin Punk’ anime, which has an original story without any previous adaptations or manga references to anticipate about. Kite and Mezzo Forte were few such anime from the studio that had original stories and were released as an animation video and series. These two anime had heavy themes leaning towards mature and cyberpunk genre, focusing on such audience. Though the animations are less heard of and underrated, it has its own fanbase and people still recommend the animes for dark genre lovers.

The anime was announced in the festival with less details provided about its production and development. With less details available, and lack of materials to cross-refer to, anime lovers are expectant of the anime to the sole fact of the production studio.

Synopsis of Virgin Punk

The plot revolves around the protagonist Ubu in the year 2099. Ubu’s sniper and fighting skills are explored and paid attention to in the trailer as she takes up the role of a bounty hunter. The official quote from Shaft regarding Ubu’s character reads, “Beaten down by repeated misfortunes, she became a mere shadow of herself.” Yasuomi Umetsu – director of Kite and Mezzo Forte will be designing the characters and directing the anime this time too.
