Manga fans, this year has been a great year. With many new manga and anime series coming out, many manga series have come to an end. These popular manga series have truly changed our perception of imagination and given us an amazing reason to love them. From My Hero Academia to Oshi no Ko and many others, these manga series have been adapted into anime, and a wave of craziness has filled fans’ hearts with adventure and fun.
Look at the most popular manga series that have given us chills and thrills but ended this year, leaving us melancholic.
Jujutsu Kaisen
This popular manga turned into an anime series has completely blown our minds. Published in the Weekly Shōnen Jump edition from 2018 till September 2014, illustrated and written by Gege Akutami, the manga brought supernatural fiction into a living mechanism. The manga has 28 volumes, and we got only 2 seasons of the dark comedy and fiction.
With season 3 on its way, many more exciting episodes will be featured soon. Movies and spinoffs of the popular series have also given fans a reason to stay tight for more. Though the manga has concluded its plot this year, there is still some reason to stick to the series to be converted into an anime. Currently, fans are both nostalgic and excited to see the series visual impact, anticipated in 2025.
The plot of the series talks about a boy named Yuji Itadori, a high school over-enthusiastic teenager, who discovers a mysterious yet powerful finger of a sorcerer, Ryomen Sukuna. Things start to get difficult when the powerful Sukuna takes Yuji’s body as a host. Now to give the boy a normal life, Gojo takes him to his school and trains him. Things get interesting when slowly the sorcerer takes Yuji and tries to manipulate him and his body.
My Hero Academia
Another manga adapted to an anime series, My Hero Academia, has one of the biggest fan followings ever. The science fantasy superhero has become the largest-selling manga series ever. With 41 volumes and illustrations by Kōhei Horikoshi, the manga series came out in the Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine edition from July 2014 to August 2024. An anime for seven seasons and 159 episodes streaming on various platforms and broadcast channels, the series has finally come to an end.
In a recent buzz about the manga, the manga sold up to 100 million copies worldwide. Though fans are excited about the anime, at the same time they are sad by the fact that the manga has ended with 430 chapters. At the international publication, the chapters 422-430 are yet to be published. The My Hero Academia movie also came out this year.

Talking about the plot, a parallel universe of humans who have inherited superpowers is defending the world from evil forces. The anime series features the adventures of Quirks saving the world from dark entities. It is available on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
Mob Psycho 100
Another manga series filled with action and comedy, Mob Psycho 100 has a pretty decent fan following. Though the manga ended in 2017 with 16 volumes, the series adapted from it ended recently. Written and illustrated by Tomohiro, aka One, it has almost 37 episodes; the series concluded in 2022. Talking about the manga series, a boy named Shigeo Kageyama, a middle school student, has some psychic powers.
He can see and tell things that are beyond human reach. His powers are quite problematic , but he keeps them under control. Helping a man who possesses similar qualities, they embark on a journey to stop things that normal people cannot see. It’s available on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
Noragami: Stray God
It looks like Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine is the powerhouse of many iconic manga. A supernatural urban fantasy Noragami-Stray God has garnered quite a huge fanbase. The manga series was written and illustrated by Adachitoka with 27 volumes and 3 extra stories. The manga ended in February 2024. It first came out in April 2011, gaining an instant fan following. It has recently sold 8 million copies worldwide, gaining international appreciation from fans overseas.
Talking about the story, it talks about a god who isn’t worshipped by anyone. One day a young middle school girl saves him, thinking he is a stranger. She is hit by the bus, and her soul travels out of the body. She sees the world of gods and afterlife things, and Yato takes this as an opportunity to gain some devotees. They end up on an adventurous venture, experiencing the world of gods and fairies and also finding the ways to get Hiyori Iki back to her body and her human world.

Oshi no Ko
An exciting drama series, Oshi no Ko, has recently wrapped up its charm. The series that was featured in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump from April 2020 until November 2024 has influenced maximum fans worldwide. The anime adaptation was announced in 2022 and will be ending with season 3 this month. The manga ended on November 14, 2024, according to the magazine, and the final edition of the 16 volumes will be released on December 18, 2024.
Season 3 has been announced and is most likely to come next year. It celebrated the 20 million copies milestone sold worldwide this month. It’s available on Prime Video, Crunchyroll , and also streams on Japanese broadcast channels.
Talking about the series, a brilliant gynecologist and obstetrician named Gorou is tasked with a specific case of an idol named Ai to deliver her kids. Being a fan, he is obliged to deliver the kids. On a fateful night, an obsessive fan kills the doctor, and the doctor is reborn as Ai ‘s son Aqua and daughter named Ruby. They grow up, are proliferating in their careers, and are chasing the killer who killed their mother and finding their father.

The anime manga series is getting live action coming on Prime Video on December 20, 2024. With the manga ending, the fans are nostagic about the series. It’s available on both Netflix and Crunchyroll. It will be streamed on Prime Video this month.
