Love triangles are a quintessential part of romance stories. Though Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari’s Oshi no Ko isn’t a romance manga, it has plenty of amorous moments sprinkled in between, the most noticeable being the dynamic between Aqua Hoshino, Akane Kurokawa, and Kana Arima.
Aqua shares intense bonds with both of these girls and is loved by them. However, his quest for vengeance and his single-minded goal of protecting Ruby never allow for any romantic relationship to bloom for the young man. Aqua’s plan is to stage a scene that says that Hikaru attacked him and the two fell while Aqua was trying to protect himself. This, along with Nino’s confession, brings Hikaru’s wrongdoings to light and brands him as a murderer. Aqua and Ruby’s reputations, on the other hand, remain intact even if the young man doesn’t survive.
Aqua’s untimely death prevents any definitive answer to the love triangle. During his final moments, he has visions of significant moments with both Akane and Kana. But fans still don’t know whom Aqua romantically liked.
What happens to Akane and Kana?
After Aqua’s both, both Akane and Kana are grief-stricken. Akane understands him better than anyone, so she’s able to see through his plan. She feels sad that he didn’t ask for her help but she understands the motivation behind his actions.
Compared to Akane’s somber grief, Kana is completely broken by Aqua’s death. She breaks down during the funeral and even slaps his lifeless body. Kana regrets that she could never confess her feelings to him.
With time, the girls move on with their lives. They both pursue their individual acting careers. The girls are seen cheering together in the audience as B-Komachi performs at the dome with two new members.
