Onimusha is a series of action adventure games with horror elements. Onimusha 2 was launched only for PlayStation 2, but the remake edition will be released for multiple consoles. It has been hailed as one of the best anime games. The Onimusha game was adapted into an anime series as well. As of now, there is no release date for the remastered edition of Onimusha 2 video game. Capcom confirmed the game will be released in 2025. Sources indicate the Onimusha 2 remake will be released during Winter 2025.
Onimusha 2 Remastered Version – Gameplay, Story
Onimusha 2 remastered will be set in the same universe of Onimusha games. It takes place during the medieval japan period. Jubei Yagyu, the protagonist, embarks on a journey to defeat the leader of the demon army, Nobunaga Oda. In his journey, the protagonist explores a magical land, Oni heritage, that allows him to acquire special powers and recruit new allies to his squad.
Nobunaga Oda, the antagonist, decides to invade Yagyu village and completes his mission successfully. The Genma army destroys the entire Yagyu clan, but Jubei Yagyu is the one who survived the attack. Jubei Yagyu is the only savior of his village and he decides to take revenge for the murders of his friends. He interacts with Takajo, a female oni, who also claims to be his mother. She asks him to find five orbs that can be used to destroy the demons. He starts his adventure in Imasho and explores other towns as well.
Characters can defeat enemies and unlock souls. Souls in Onimusha are currencies, and these can be used for upgrading weapons and armor. Red, Blue, Purple, and Yellow Souls can be unlocked by slaying monsters. The gameplay will be fast and open-ended. Characters can use magic, herbs, and medicines to retrieve health. With special skills and special weapons, the goal for players is to defeat Nobunaga and his Genma Army.
Onimusha 2 Remastered – Platforms
The Onimusha 2 remastered version of the game will be released for PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. It will be released on Steam for PC users. The price and editions of Onimusha 2 remake are not revealed yet.
