Quick Recap of Season 7 and What Led Here

Let’s rewind just a bit. After the emotionally charged end of My Hero Academia Season 6 in March 2023, fans were treated to a special My Hero Academia Memories arc in April 2024 — a four-episode compilation with a few new scenes.

Then, Season 7 premiered in May 2024, picking up from episode 139. It continued the gripping saga of heroes vs. villains, setting the stage for what’s to come. Crunchyroll streamed it weekly, giving global fans their weekly dose of heroism and heartbreak.

The Movie Tie-In: My Hero Academia – You’re Next

Don’t forget — the story expanded to the big screen last year with My Hero Academia: You’re Next, which hit Japanese theaters in August 2024 and later landed in U.S. theaters on October 11. It was a cinematic rollercoaster, shown in formats like IMAX, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema.

The home release dropped in Japan on February 19, 2025, and even included a bonus anime short titled “A Piece of Cake.” It’s the perfect appetizer for the finale.

Manga Milestone – A Legend Ends

Creator Kōhei Horikoshi brought Deku’s story to life in Weekly Shonen Jump way back in July 2014. Fast-forward to August 2024, and the manga wrapped with one of the most emotional endings in shonen history. The final volume — number 42 — shipped in December 2024, featuring 38 pages of bonus content set after the original finale.

To date, My Hero Academia has crossed an astounding 100 million copies in circulation worldwide, cementing its place in anime history.

Vigilantes Spin-Off for Extra Hype

Still want more BNHA while you wait for Season 8? The spin-off series My Hero Academia: Vigilantes (also known as Vigilante: Boku no Hero Academia Illegals) premiered on April 7, 2025 and is currently streaming on Crunchyroll. It explores the underground side of hero society with a grittier tone and fresh characters — a must-watch for true fans.

Plus Ultra One Last Time!

The end of My Hero Academia is more than just the end of a series — it’s the closing chapter of a generation-defining story. From UA High to the final battlefield, Deku’s path has inspired millions. And now, it’s our turn to stand with him one last time.
