Premiere Event and Creator’s Return

The Let’s Play anime held its world premiere screening at Anime Expo on July 3, 2025. Creator Leeanne M. Krecic, along with director Daiki Tomiyasu and producers Heather Horn, Hana Sugawara, and Minaka Sakamoto, attended the event, which offered fans a preview of the adaptation’s direction and production values.

About the Webcomic

Originally launched in 2016 on WEBTOON, Let’s Play quickly became one of the most popular romance-dramedy comics on the platform, drawing a global fanbase for its candid portrayal of gaming culture, introversion, social anxiety, and modern relationships.

The webcomic concluded its third season in September 2022, after which Krecic announced that she would no longer continue publishing on WEBTOON. Among the cited reasons were concerns about platform transparency, compensation, and lack of marketing support. Despite the hiatus, fans were reassured that the series would return in Fall 2025, although a new platform has yet to be confirmed.

Rocketship Entertainment currently publishes the English print version of the comic and released its fourth volume in July 2024.

What to Expect

The Let’s Play anime promises to bring Mongie’s characters and sharp humor to life through expressive animation and a seasoned voice cast. The series will explore complex relationships, personal growth, and digital-era struggles, all through the lens of romance and slice-of-life comedy.

With a strong production team, high expectations from fans, and the creator herself involved in early promotional efforts, Let’s Play is poised to make a significant impact in the Fall 2025 anime season.
