Does Marine Hero Koby Have Conquer’s Haki?

In the recent One Piece Episode, Koby launched Honesty Impact on Pizarro and destroyed his mountain-sized hand, letting fans speculate if the Marine Hero has Conqueror’s Haki. Koby is one of the most talked about characters in the series. He is introduced as a crybaby who cannot raise his voice against wrong. However, after meeting Monkey D. Luffy in Episode 1 and as he helped Koby from Lady Alvida, he later decided to join the Navy. In the same episode, Koby meets a Marine who lets him join the Navy.

After serving in the Navy for some time, he gets the opportunity to train under Grap. His training included punching a battleship bag with bare hands, without Haki and Devil Fruit. It may seem brutal at first, but this training from Grawp helps Koby grow into a Marine hero. He becomes one of the stronger Marines and saves dozens of lives. However, this was not always the case since he failed to save his teacher from Blackbeard Pirates.

In episode 1122 of One Piece anime, which marked the end of the legendary hero, Grap the Fist. While rescuing Koby from the Blackbeard Pirates, Grap was badly injured when Shiryu stabbed him with a katana. Even after that, Grap doesn’t back down, letting his fellow escape from the island. He even himself gets captured by the Blackbeard Pirates. At the end of the episode, he shares a message through the transponder snail that they didn’t have to worry about him. He did this only to save the future of the Marines. This was the moment that made every One Piece cry out aloud. Grap is one of the most popular characters in the series, and having to end his legacy like that makes no sense.

Fortunately, his decision to let himself get captured by Blackbeard Pirate does not go in vain since Koby shows all the possibilities to carry on his mentor’s legacy.

Koby Will Carry Grap Legacy

Like Grap, Koby depends on his Haki while fighting with the enemies. He did not use weapons nor eat Devil Fruit, which makes him one of the few characters in the series who believes in pure strength. Grap, the Marine Hero, is known as the Grap the Fist by others. He was the only known Marine who could rival Gol D. Roger toe-to-toe. The two characters face plenty of times and get nearly killed each time they encounter. Roger, who uses the sword Ace during the fight, cannot defeat Grap, who only uses his fists. This shows that Grap had great mastery over Haki.

The same can be true for Koby. He undergoes the intense training routine created by Grap, which involves punching the Battleship Bag with bare hands. After a while, Grap asked Helmeppo about Koby, who often gets heavily injured each time he followed his training method. To his surprise, Helmeppo told Grap that Koby trained more than others.

Koby believes he is weaker than others, so he must train harder than others. Impressed by Koby’s determination and will to become stronger, Grap made Koby his protege. In Episode 1122, Koby followed Grap’s instruction, letting the Haki follow and collected in his fist, after which he attacked Pizarro with the Honesty Impact. The name of his attack sounds like Grap’s Galaxy Impact. Honesty Impact is a small version of Galaxy Impact. That makes him the perfect candidate to carry on Grap’s Legacy.

Sure enough, Koby used Armament Haki to attack Pizarro. And the devastation caused by Pizarro’s mountain-like hand proves just that. However, it was unclear whether the young Marine infused Conqueror’s Haki.

What Is Conqueror’s Haki?

Conqueror’s Haki is the most discussed topic in the anime community. And it makes sense since many characters in the series do not possess the Conqueror Haki, making it a rare ability in the show. The people with Conqueror’s Haki are Luffy, Zoro, Shank, Blackbeard, Whitebeard, Roger, Grap, and others. The one who has Conqueror’s Haki will have a higher advantage in the battle. In one of the Episodes, Shanks one-shot Kid with his immense Haki, showing that his Haki mastery is far above the level of Kaido that he one-shot Kid who just came after defeating Big Mom.

The same goes for Luffy and Kaido, having incredible mastery over Haki, and only their power collision splits the sky. However, after witnessing such mindblowing events in the story, fans wondered what is Conqueror’s Haki.

  • The rarest form of Haki in One Piece.
  • Wilded by only a handful number of characters.

Conqueror’s Haki is the strong form of Haki in One Piece, allowing users to achieve incredible feats. Conqueror’s Haki is considered the rarest form of Haki that helps users to pull extraordinary things. Generally, Haki is divided into two types, and are the Observation Haki and the Color of Armament. With Observation Haki, one can sense the presence, power level, and emotions of people around them. It gives them the future sight — so they can track things better. The Color of Observation is like a sixth sense ability that helps them greatly.

Another form of Haki is the Color of Armament. It helps them manifest their spirit as armor and use it later as offensive and defensive. Generally, this type of Haki is invisible. However, Armament Haki is showcased using black coloring in the manga and anime. In One Piece, every character possesses one or both types of Haki. However, there is another form of Haki, which only a handful of people access, known as the Supreme King Haki or Conqueror Haki.

Conqueror’s Haki is an ability that allows users to impose their willpower on others, knocking the weaker one out in the process. The greater the power gap between the two, the easier for them to knock them out. Those who possess the Conqueror’s Haki have the making of a true ruler, and in One Piece, only the strongest possess this ability.

The advanced version is the power of Supreme King Haki which allows users to infuse their body with this ability. When this happens, the attack of the user becomes much more brutal and even capable of knocking out even some of the strongest in a blow. Only a handful of characters in One Piece possess the Color of Supreme King Haki, Grap being one of them.

Indicators Of Conqueror’s Haki Infusion

The Color of Supreme King Haki is the most brutal ability shown in the series so far. This ability has the potential to knock down the strongest with a blow. Even if the Supreme King Haki the most powerful ability in the show, only the selected few in the show has shown possessed it. Characters like Big Mom, Blackbeard, Roger, Grap, and Luffy are selected. However, there are other characters present also who are likely blessed with this ability.

Despite being the rarest ability, fans still confuse Color of the Supreme King or Conqueror’s Haki with others. Oda, the creator of One Piece, shared a few indicators of the Color of the Supreme King or Conqueror’s Haki. The very first and most obvious indication is a streak of black lighting flowing off from whatever it is infused with. For example, when Luffy attacked with punches covered with the Color of the Supreme King, a huge streak of black lighting emitted from his punches. Similarly, when Roger infused his sword Ace with the Color of Supreme King, this streak of black lighting emanated from his sword.

Similarly, whichever part of the user’s body infused with this technique was seen emanating the steak of black lighting. In the case of Shanks, the exact same properties were showcased, the same with Big Mom and Roger. Another indicator of Conqueror’s Haki is whenever it launches, it releases a huge streak of black lighting that spans all over the land.

A misconception among fans is that when Conqueror’s Haki infusion is used — the no-touch effect is produced. But this is not the case. This is only produced when the Color of the Supreme King is placed above the advanced form of the Color of Armament. Doing so allows the user to send Haki directly to someone’s body.

The no-touch effect is only produced between the two Supreme King Haki users who are using this Haki type and trying to hurt the body of the other from inside by launching the Haki from a distance. The perfect example is when Shanks stopped Greenbull from entering Wano.

Does Koby Have Conqueror’s Haki?

Coming over whether Koby has Conqueror’s Haki or it isn’t that difficult to figure this out. At the moment, Koby doesn’t possess Conqueror’s Haki. In the latest episode, fans saw Koby destroy Pizarro mountain-sized and with the Honesty Impact. However, Koby didn’t infuse Conqueror’s Haki with Armament since Honesty Impact didn’t produce the streak of black lighting. The spark produced in the Honesty Impact is not the infusion of Conqueror Haki. It happens when Armament Haki is infused in weapons or fists. Fans have seen on various occasions in cases where no advanced Haki was used. For example, Luffy displayed similar Haki sparks while battling Katakuri at Whole Cake Island. Katakuri also showed similar Haki sparks while battling with Luffy.

The proper indication of Conqueror’s Haki is if a streak of black lightning flowed from the body part, which was Conqueror’s Haki infused. At the same time, Koby’s attack does not produce black lighting, which is another indication that the attack is not Conqueror’s Haki infused.

Koby’s attack was purely based on Armament Haki, and this, in a way, made it more impressive. Destroying a mountain with only Armament Haki is a feat that shows Koby’s capability. He trained hard under Grap and proved himself as the next Marine Hero. He will surely surpass his master after he is used to another form of Haki.

The Future Potential Of Koby Is Huge

In the future, Koby surely become one of the strongest Marines. His dream of becoming an Admiral will surely come true. For that to happen, he must train himself to the hardest, overcoming any challenges, including if it is meant to go against a Yanko. He first needs to master Observation and Armament Haki, the two most dangerous abilities known. However, if he wants to go against Luffy, Koby must unlock Conqueror’s Haki. After all, Koby is Monkey D. Grap’s student and if his teacher had this power, Oda may give it to Koby as well.

Animeking: Summary

Koby is one of the most talked about characters in One Piece, and his recent feat in the series shows his ability to become the strongest Marine. After he smashed Pizarro’s mountain-sized hand with the Honesty Impact, fans started raising questions — whether Koby had Conqueror’s Haki.

Before understanding Koby, we need to understand the meaning of Conqueror’s Haki. Conqueror’s Haki is the rarest form of Haki, possessing only a handful number of characters, such as Rayleigh, Blackbeard, Kaido, Luffy, and many more. By infusing Conqueror’s Haki with the body, the user can cause serious damage. The greater the Conqueror’s Haki power gap between the two, the easier them to knock them out.

There should be massive streaks of black lightning coming from the body part infused with Conqueror’s Haki. For example, when Kaido attacks with his weapon, there’s black lighting coming every time he launches his weapon at Luffy.

Coming to whether Koby has the Conqueror’s Haki or not. The simple answer to this is no. For the present, Koby does not possess the Color of Supreme King, meaning the damage he caused Pizarro was all of his Aranment Haki. However, he has the potential to obtain it in the future. After all, he was the student of Legendary, Grap the Fist.
