Episode 7: To a Kinder World

Episode 7 started off with Aira passing out from exhaustion and injury caused by the mother demon and consecutive attacks on Ken and Momo. The mother demon suggested Momo to have her soul connect with Aira so that Aira could live, but instead she will perish to dust. While Momo helps in transmitting the energy to Aira, she gets a runthrough of the life of the demonic mother protecting Aira.

We get transmitted to the life of the demon, where she was not a demon but a loving mother who tried her very best to provide whatever she can to her daughter. The harsh realities of life, along with the love and affection for her daughter was executed very well in the anime, without changing the original plot and timeline like that from the manga.

The life of a single mother who tried her best to make ends meet, to bring in the money for their proper livelihood by doing different work and part-time work was showcased without sugarcoating the vile realities of the world. The mother works odd jobs at odd hours, teaches ballet and spends time with her daughter during her free time. With the resources available, she saved up money to get a dress for her kid, and a small amount of happiness in her daughter’s face lifts up her entire day.

But one fine day, she is subjected to violence from her clients as she couldn’t meet the work requirement and she gets abused and attacked. Her daughter gets taken away by them, but she could save her as she becomes unconscious from the attacks and injury. On realizing the event and on waking up, she runs off to try to find her kid, but is unable to do so. With understanding the brutality that life has given her, and with the only light in her life being taken away, she jumps off from a building by dancing to her favourite ballet song one last time. But her soul without finding peace and rest has been wandering in the human world for a long time, and that’s when Aira found her and mistook her for her mother. Aira list her mother at a very young age, and when she saw the demonic mother in her ghost form, she could help but call her as ‘mother’.

The mother ghost felt satisfied and instantly became closely attached to Aira as she was one to call her as a mom after losing her daughter. She became the guardian angel of her since then and on seeing this, Momo bursts out in tears rejecting the idea of the demonic mother shifting her powers to Aira. But the mother falls apart slowly by saying that she was happy enough to be called as a ‘mother’ and always treated Aira as her kid. On realizing consciousness, Aira ran to hug the mother demon, saying that she was happy to be under her protection all the whole and will never forget her. Apparently, as per the narration of Turbo Nanny, the spirit which volunteers to give up their soul for another living person, will end up being perished from the universe, as anyone dead or alive will never be able to remember them.
