You and Idol Pretty Cure anime has Uta Sakura in the lead role. She is a second-year middle school student and one of the members of Pretty Cures. Sakura is a singer and she leads a happy life in Hanamichi Town with her cute dog, Kyu-chan. Uta Sakura goes to school, plays with her friends, and spends her time with her dog. One day, she goes on a long walk with Kyu-Chan and meets a strange person. Sakura meets Purirun, a fairy from KirakiLand.

Sakura is surprised to see sparkles around Purirun. It is also revealed Purirun has lost its Idol Pretty Cure and her place is attacked by the rival who also steals their sparkles. Uta Sakura gives Pretty Cure Ribbon and Idol Heart Brooch to Purirun, and also promises to save their land from the Chokkiri Gang and its leader. Uta Sakura joins her allies and embarks on a magical adventure to KirakiLand to save everyone.
