Story Synopsis
The narrative follows Mifuyu, a high school student residing in Mikura Hall, a vast library containing her great-grandfather’s extensive book collection. Despite her father serving as the current caretaker, Mifuyu lacks her family’s literary enthusiasm. When thieves steal several books from the library, they activate an ancient curse that transforms the town according to various story elements. To restore normalcy, Mifuyu must apprehend the culprit. Accompanied by a enigmatic girl named Mashiro, she embarks on an adventure traversing different fictional story worlds.

Publication History: Kadokawa originally published the novel in 2020. A manga adaptation by Kakeru Sora ran in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine from December 2021 to March 2023, with Yen Press releasing all three compiled volumes in English. Yen On licensed and published the English novel edition on February 18.
Kadokawa also released Fukamidori’s spinoff novel “Kūsō no Umi” (Fantasy Sea) in May 2023.
