Happinet confirmed on Thursday that Mitsuru Hattori’s manga “Wash it All Away” (Kirei ni Shite Moraemasu ka.) will receive an anime adaptation in 2026.

Cast and Staff: Sayumi Suzushiro will voice protagonist Wakana Kinme. The project is directed by Kenta Ōnishi (“The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter”) at studio Okuru to Noboru, with script and series composition handled by Tōko Machida (“The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist In Another World”). Character design is managed by Azuma Tozawa, who previously worked as sub-character designer for “Even Given the Worthless ‘Appraiser’ Class, I’m Actually the Strongest.”

Story Overview
This seaside slice-of-life tale features compelling characters and beautiful artwork, providing peaceful respite from modern life’s complexities. The story centers on Wakana Kinme, who has operated a laundry service in the coastal resort town of Atami for two years. Despite having no recollection of her past, she has created a meaningful existence by befriending locals and enjoying the area’s hot springs. Through her cleaning services, Wakana helps preserve memories embedded within customers’ treasured belongings.
Publication Background: Hattori serialized the manga in Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine from July 2017 to June 2023, with Square Enix publishing 10 compiled volumes. A new side story chapter is scheduled for release on Friday, following a previous side story published six months after the main series concluded. Square Enix Manga & Books handles English publication.

Creator’s Previous Works: Hattori is known for the zombie comedy manga “Sankarea,” which ran from 2009 to 2014 and received a 2012 anime adaptation released by Funimation in North America, with Kodansha Comics publishing the English manga version. His earlier work “Kenko Zenrakei Suieibu Umisho” also received a television anime adaptation.

Additional projects include providing artwork for the manga adaptation of NisiOisin’s “Imperfect Shojo” novel, which Vertical licensed for North American release across three volumes. Hattori also created the ongoing “Kaiju-iro no Shima” manga in Kadokawa’s Monthly Dragon Age magazine starting in 2018, with Yen Press planning to release it in English as “Monster-Colored Island.”
