The Darwin Incident Anime Adaptation: Release Date and Synopsis
The social thriller manga written and illustrated by Shun Umezawa is about to entice fans differently. The plot of the manga opens in a fictional world. A secret operation is being carried out by an animal rights organization. During this time, in a biological research center, a pregnant chimp gives birth to a humanzee baby.
A half-human, half-chimp hybrid is born and is named Charlie. He is loved and brought up by human parents for fifteen years. His demeanor and sensitivity cause some eyes to see something absurd happening in the community. Frequently being questioned whether he is human or animal.
Charlie is unaware of his existence and is often called an outcast. A group of vegan campaigners wants to use him as their icon. As Charlie starts high school, he meets Lucy, who is often called a nerd. Being good at heart she befriends Charlie.
As things start to fall into place, an ALA (Animal Liberation Alliance), which repeatedly engages in some terrorist activities in search of animal liberation, is willing to recruit Charlie in their mission and is planning to lure him into terrorism, intending to employ harsh means. The TV anime is to be in production. Being developed in the IN PRODUCTION, it is scheduled to come out in 2025. Naokatsu Tsuda is directing the series. About 1.6 million manga copies have been circulated as of the 2024 May edition.
