Sakamoto Days is a manga series from Yuto Suzuki and it has sold more than 5 million copies. It was adapted into a novel series in 2023. After 4 years, the anime adaptation of Sakamoto Days has been announced by Netflix and it will air in 2025. The action comedy series features a retired Criminal as the protagonist, and it takes us through the journey of the criminal along with his friends and wife.

Sakamoto Days is an action drama with Taro Sakamoto in the lead role. Taro is an ex-hitman who runs a ‘Convenience’ store. Taro’s past life as a criminal ended when he met Aoi. Taro Sakamoto marries Aoi and ends his life as a Hitman. He launches a new venture and hires other hitmen as his employees.

After many years, Sakamoto meets his rivals and is in a situation to get back to his old profession.  When a group of Assassins start entering Taro Sakamoto’s life, his family is under threat, and he has to become a criminal again to save his family. Sakamoto’s combat skills are needed again to overcome criminals. Taro Sakamoto joins Shin Asakura in a new mission to save his friends and family.

Sakamoto Days anime will be done by a new team. It is directed by Masaki Watanabe and the story will be written by Taku Kishimoto. TMS Entertainment Studio will handle the animation. There is no update regarding the music director of the Sakamoto Days anime series.
