In the latest episode 1122 of One Piece anime, Koby uses his named attack, “Honesty Impact,” to destroy Pizarro’s right hand. Pizarro is one of the Blackbeard pirate members who were going to destroy the Marines’s ship, killing many civilians and Marines. However, before he could succeed, Koby covered his hand with Haki, took a position, and landed a solid blow of Honesty Impact on Pizarro’s right hand. Like Grap Galaxy Impact, Koby’s attack was enough to destroy his opponent.
He first appeared in Chapter 1 or Episode 1 of One Piece as the Alvida Pirates’ hapless ship caretaker who lived in fear of the captain. However, after meeting Monkey D. Luffy and learning about his dream of becoming Pirate King, Koby understands his dream of wanting to become a Marine. After Monkey D. Luffy defeats Alvida and saves Koby, he meets a Marine who takes him in his wing.
The Marine he met was so nice that he introduced Koby to Marine Hero Monkey D. Grap. This meeting with Grap helped him in many ways. Garp takes Koby under his wing and trains him to be the next Marine hero. He is one of the few characters in One Piece who will have the potential to go against the likes of Monkey D. Luffy since Koby was considered the next Grap.
Episode 1122 of One Piece shows a flashback to when Blackbeard attacked Snake Island and took Marines as hostages. Blackbeard wanted to make Hachinosu a nation allied to the World Government, an ambitious dream. To save others from Blackbeard, Koby lets himself get captured. Blackbeard understands the importance of Koby, the Hero, and agrees to take him. He wanted to use him as a bet with the World Government. Unfortunately, Koby is a member of Sword and the World Government will ignore him.
Koby Uses Honesty Impact For The First Time
In Episode 1122 of One Piece, when the Marines tried to escape from Hachinosu, they were attacked by Pizarro, who did not want them to escape. However, after understanding the dangerous situation they were in and the damage that would be done to the Marines, Grap launched Galaxy Impact on Pizarro, causing him to receive some damage. This gave Koby enough time to prepare himself for the attack. The attack he used on Pizarro was called Honesty Impact. It was his first named attack in the series.
The Honesty Impact by Koby was powerful enough to destroy the entire righthand of Pizarro and gave Marines enough time to escape from the island.
Koby’s Secret Training
- Like Grap, Koby Trained With The Battleship.
- Koby Awakened Powerful Haki.
One Piece Episode 1122 was phenomenal in many ways and focused on many different things in the series. While Grap’s defeat by the hand on Kuzan was at the center of it all, fans also witnessed the next generation of Marines blooming and taking the age of Helm, showing that Grap was right in placing his trust in them. Koby was especially central to all this, and fans also got the flashback of Koby through Grap. In the flashback, Grap asks, “Helmeppo why Koby was always covered with bandaged and bloodied despite being a fast learner.”
Grap initially thought — Koby was weak and could not keep up with his rigorous training. Much to his surprise, he found out through Helmeppo that Koby was training more after undergoing the rigorous training that Grap put him through. Koby believed that he was much weaker than an average person. That is why he must train not 10, 20, but 100 or 200 times more than all the others.
Therefore, Koby went to the dock every night and practiced on one of the Battleship Bags. He ended up bruising and bloodying his arm and shoulders while punching the Battleship Bags. However, the training bore fruit as Koby’s inner potential exploded later in the story. This is one of the reasons why Koby’s growth in the series is considered the best among others. Impressed by Koby’s training, Grap taught Koby more than others.

Koby’s Haki Skills
Koby is one of the powerful new generations of Marines who undergoes rigorous training put him in by Monkey D. Grap. Like Kuzan, Koby has the potential to surpass his master in terms of strength and Haki. In Episode 1122, Koby proves his Haki mastery after he destroys Pizarro’s right hand with Honesty Impact. Honesty Impact is Koby’s latest move in the series, which required him to cover his hand with Armament Haki before landing the blow on the opponent. This attack of Koby has everything from brutal strength to the mastery of the Haki, but it lacks the intensity of Grap’s Galaxy Impact.
When Grap launched the Galaxy Impact on the Hachinosu, he nearly destroyed the island with a single blow. However, with Koby, he only managed to destroy Pizarro’s hand. This shows he may pull the move like Honesty Impact, but has a long way to go before challenging Luffy or others.
However, Grap considered him his disciple and the future of the Marines because he was adept at the art of Rokushiki and incorporated it into his fighting style over the years. Koby is one of the best Marines with a bounty of 500,000,000 million berries placed by the Cross Guild. His bounty poster has five stars, indicating his threat to pirates.
Unlike Grap’s Galaxy Impact, Koby Honesty Impact only destroyed Pizarro’s mountain-sized hand. It shows that Koby has a long way to reach Grap’s level. However, looking at his young age, Koby only grows stronger from here, and his mastery over Haki will make him capable enough to rival Monkey D. Luffy. Like Grap, Koby will follow in his master’s footsteps and make his name by taking down some of the strongest characters like Blackbeard.

Koby’s Honesty Impact Is Killer
Koby is one of the most talked about characters in the One Piece. His growth in the series outshines many characters, like Zoro. However, he was popular among fans not because of Grap and Luffy but because of his Haki. For years, fans questioned his existence in the series and did not believe him to rival Luffy. But Grap did! He trained him just like others, including Kuzan and Helmeppo. However, his will to get strong and save lives, makes him the perfect candidate to take the role of Grap’s protege.
Koby’s best moment in the series came after he launched Honesty Impact on Pizarro’s hand. The attack was powerful enough to destroy his opponent’s arms and give others a chance to fall back. Shortly after Garp shone through Kuzan and launched a powerful move called Galaxy Impact on Avalo Pizzaro’s head by punching the giant pirate skull on the Pirate Island, Koby decided to unleash his technique “Honesty Impact” as well. The attack used by Koby to destroy Pizzaro’s hand is somewhat similar to Grap’s Galaxy Impact. He copies Grap’s movement while launching the attack, like moving extremely fast and leaping into the air. He then covered his fist with Armament Haki to a great degree, as showed by the blackened hand and black lighting emanating from his fist.
Like Grap, he charged toward his opponent, ready to punch them extremely hard, creating a giant shockwave capable of blasting through his enemies. When used against Pizarro, Honesty Impact ended up destroying his mountain-sized hand and delivering serious injury to him. Unfortunately, this technique was not as powerful as One Piece fans think. Pizarro, despite being one of the weaklings of the Blackbeard Pirates, was not defeated by this technique. However, this technique of Koby is not powerful enough to take down Younko, it requires work to perfect.
How Strong Is Koby?
Koby is one of the strong Marines and has a bounty of 500,00,000 million berries in the series. In the latest episode of One Piece, Koby justifies his bounty of five stars by taking on Pizarro, one of the commanders of Blackbeard Pirates. Koby is Grap’s protege and the future of the Marines. He proves his worth in the previous episode. It is said that Koby has a lot of room to grow, and right now, he is nowhere near the level of One Piece’s strongest character. Currently, Koby is not even at the level of Younko commander. Shown when Coby uses his best attack on Pizarro and can only injure him to a certain level, not defeat him.
From this point, Koby only gets stronger and surpasses his master and the Marine Hero, Grap. He was evident to be Luffy’s rival, stopping him from reaching his goal. However, it is only possible if Koby becomes strong and masters Haki. As the series progresses, Koby will get more chances like this to shine even further and grow one step closer to his dream of becoming an Admiral of the Navy.
Conclusion
Koby is one of the most talked about characters in the series whose mastery over Haki is the topic of discussion between fans. Like Grap, Koby didn’t possess Devil Fruit power. He relied on his Haki, which he obtained after the intense training he went through daily. Grap put him in the training, where he punched the Battleship bags with his bare hands, no Haki.
His determination to become strong impressed Grap. He even learned from Helemppo that Koby trained not 10, 20, but 100 or 200 times more than all the others. His intense training and will were the result of his using Honesty Impact on Pizarro. He gave others a chance to escape from the island.
