One Piece: How Strong Is Blackbeard Ten Tatanic Kuzan?

Introduced as a Marine Admiral who went to capture Nico Robin from Straw Hats, Aokiji Kuzan is a former Admiral and currently holds the position in the Blackbeard Pirates as the Ten Titanic. He was one of the fan-favorite characters at some point when he let Nico Robin escape, saved Jaguar D. Saul’s life by freezing him, and protected Luffy from Akainu in the Marineford Arc. After he lost the battle against Akainu, left the Marines, and joined Blackbeard Pirates, he became the most hated One Piece character. He does not hesitate to go against Grap, his former teacher who helped him to develop skills that make him strong. Without Grap’s training, Kuzan will surely be the weakest of all the Marines.

In the recent Episode of One Piece anime, Kuzan used his ice attack to stab Monkey D. Grap in his lower and then freeze him so he couldn’t escape. During their battle, we get a flashback of the time when Kuzan just joined the Navy asking Grap to train him. However, Grap ignores it at first but later accepts it after seeing his determination to become strong.

Grap’s training involved punching the Battleship Bag with bare hands, no Haki and Devil. This training helped Kuzan develop some essential skills, like mastery over Haki. As time progresses, Kuzan becomes the captain and is respected by others. Not to mention, Kuzan becomes strong enough to go toa-to-toa against Akianu who at that time has an element advantage. Their battle lasted for ten days straight, till Akianu destroyed Kuzan left with his Devil Fruit. After this incident, fans have questioned how strong is Blackbeard Ten Titanic.

Kuzan As A Former Admiral

Kuzan is one of the most powerful One Piece characters, who achieved many incredible feats during his time in the Navy. He was the first one to ask Grap to train him. At first, Grap doubts if he withstand his intense training. However, after noticing his determination and will to become strong, Grap takes Kuzan under his wing. He started giving him training which involved punching the Battleship Bag with bare hands, no Haki and Devil. At the time of his training, Kuzan did not eat his Devil Fruit, making his training more intense. As he followed Grap’s routine, Kuzan started developing skills that no other had. At a very young age, he became the Captain and saved tons of lives.

However, fans only know him as a Navy Admiral before a two-year time skip. Kuzan was the first Admiral introduced to the fans and he made his introduction in the Long Ring Long Land arc of the story. There he went to test Luffy and his crew only to check if Robin was safe with them. He is one of the best Marines in the story.

When Akainu went to kill Luffy, Kuzan stopped him and attacked Luffy to save his teacher’s grandson.

In Water 7 Arc, fans learned Aokiji’s sense of justice when he let Robin escape, not once but twice. Despite being a Marine Admiral, it was clear that Aokiji did not enjoy killing people indiscriminately or even persecuting all pirates, for that matter. It is one of the reasons fans love him more than any other character. Aside from his sense of justice, Kuzan is one of the elite fighters the World Government had in its arsenal. His strength is incredible, as he can even go toe-to-toe against the Whitebeard on Marine. He fought the entire war of Marineford and received only minor injuries. Nonetheless, Kuzan as an Admiral Captain, is strong enough to take others.

Kuzan Haki

Undoubtedly, the former Admiral and current member of Blackbeard Pirates is one of the most powerful characters in the series. His past achievements and defeating the Legendary, Grap the Fist, prove his abilities. Like Koby, Kuzan was the first student Grap had. He trained him the way as Koby. Grap’s training routine involved punching the Battleship Bag with bare hands, no Devil Fruit and Haki. By the time he joined Grap’s training, he hadn’t eaten Devil Fruit, which makes it more impressive since he finished the training with high colors. Due to him being a Grap student, Kuzan accomplished many incredible feats. After the Marineford battle, Kuzan had to face Akainu for the Fleet Admiral position. It lasted ten days, given that the Akainu element had an advantage over the Aokiji.

Despite this, the battle lasted ten days and showed that Aokiji had incredible mastery over Haki. As the story progresses, we learn that Kuzan possesses the use of Observation and Armor Haki, the two power abilities in the series. These abilities allow users to take down anyone instantly.

Talking about Color of Observation, Kuzan has mastered this ability as well. During the Marineford War, Kuzan showed his Haki while dealing with elite commanders of Whitebeard Pirates. Even slightly losing concentration would cause serious injuries, and the fact he received minimum injuries during the entire Marineford War, showed his excellent control over Haki.

He has a greater degree of mastery over his Haki skill. He can create holes in his body when fighting with Whitebeard, who hit him with Haki. A similar situation occurs during Whole Cake Island when Katajuri uses this ability to protect himself from Luffy Haki’s attacks. There is some hint that Kuzan can see the future as well.

Aokiji has mastered Color of Observation or Aramement Haki and is proficient in using Ryou. Ryou is a form of Armament Haki that allows users to create an invisible shield. While fighting Whitebeard, Kuzan deflected his Haki-infused attacks quite easily, showing his mastery over Ryou and making him one of the formidable characters. The advanced mastery over Observation and Aramement Haki skills implies that Kuzan is an excellent Haki user, and that shouldn’t be a surprise since he was the student of the Legendary Grap the Fist. Moreover, his battle with Akianu lasted three days, even after the elemental disadvantage displayed his control over Haki.

Aokiji Kuzan’s Devil Fruit

Aokiji is one of the strong characters in One Piece. He was the first Marine introduced in the series and the one who helped Straw Hats multiple times them escaping. During the Marineford War, Kuzan showed fans a glimpse of his Devil Fruit powers when he froze the entire Marineford. Moreover, he was one of the characters presented in the entire War, causing trouble for many, but received minimum damage. This showed his Devil Fruit powers and his mastery over it.

Kuzan possesses Logia-type Hie Hie no Mi, which makes him an Ice Man. This Devil Fruit granted him the power to become ice himself produced and control it according to his will. It is one of the best Devil Fruits shown in the series so far. His control over the Devil Fruit is excellent, and over the years, Kuzan made this his prime weapon. Kuzan can freeze the entire Ocean within a few seconds if he wants to.

He showed this during the Marineford War when he forced the Ocean. He can trap his enemies into the ball of ice if they are not equal in power. During the Egghead Arc, Kuzan showed this when he froze the entire Blackbeard Pirates. His ability is lethal and can kill anyone if they are frozen to bone. His Devil Fruit power was quite dangerous, especially for pirates, since most of the battles were fought on the sea.

To make things more intense, he used his Devil Fruit power against Akianu on Punk Hazard for ten days straight and managed to make it an incredibly difficult fight. Although, Aokiji lost the fight his battle with Akian was incredible. His Devil Fruit power was so intense that the weather of Punk Hazard changed to snowy.

This might be the sign of Devil Fruit Awakening, and if that is the case, Kuzan could very well be one of the elite fighters in One Piece, capable of fighting against the Yanko without much trouble.

How Strong Is Kuzan?

Kuzan is one of the best characters and one of the Blackbeard Ten Titanic. His bounty has yet to be revealed in the series, but given his stature as a former Marine Captain and a member of a Yonko crew, his bounty was not less than 3 billion berries. In the latest episode of One Piece, Kuzan defeated Grap, his former teacher. He even stabbed his lower’s with the ice rod. However, Grap wasn’t in his prime and was heavily injured before Kuzan defeated him. Still, this victory was considered one of the best achievements in his life. Defeating the master was the dream of any student. However, Kuzan didn’t want to fight with his teacher. Kuzan had to fight since he was not a Marine to take Koby away from them.

As the episode progresses, fans discover something odd about Kuzan when he froze Grap’s body with his Devil Fruit. It was said by many that Kuzan froze Grap only to keep his injuries in check. And this made sense since he did not kill him in the end.

From this point, the villain’s arc of Kuzan begins when he works with Blackbeard to take him near One Piece, the greatest treasure. And some point in the story, he may encounter strong crews like Red Hair Pirates since they are looking for Blackbeard all the time.

After fighting powerful pirates like Shanks and Luffy, Kuzan will surely become even more powerful. And at some point, he might take revenge on Akainu for taking away his left leg.

Can The Current Kuzan Defeat Akian?

The most talked about topic in the One Piece community is whether the current version of Kuzan could defeat Akainu. Kuzan and Akainu are one of the strong characters in the series. Kuzan has incredible feats on his shelves, like Frozing the entire Ocean, Blackbeard Pirates, defeating Grap, and fighting in the Marineford War with minimum injuries. On the other hand, Akainu, the current Fleet Admiral, has his feats in the series. He defeated Kuzan and took his left leg, killed Ace, injured Whitebeard, and hurt Luffy. He was the best man from the Marines site during the Marineford War. Not to mention, he scared Blackbeard from head to toe.

So, talking about the current Kuzan vs Akainu and who would win the battle is hard to predict. Since Kuzan gets multiple opportunities to shine in the series, his fight against Grap was the highlight of the Egghead Arc. Not to mention, he even froze the entire crew of Blackbeard within a second. Akainu, on the other hand, hadn’t got any opportunity like him.

He was shown only sitting at his Fleet Admiral desk, giving orders to others to accomplish. Given that, Akainu vs Kuzan wasn’t a fair fight. However, fans believe that Kuzan cannot defeat Akainu in any case. The creator of One Piece himself said that Akainu is a strong character. If he wants, he can find One Piece in a few days. With that said the current version of Kuzan cannot defeat Akainu.
