Following the ending of the Second Selection Arc in Season 1, the anime will focus on the Egoist Blue Lock vs U-20 Japan match. The title of the upcoming anime series is Vs. U-20 Japan, where the player from the program will go against the team led by Sae Itoshi. However, before that, the anime is set to adapt to the Third Selection Arc. Blue Lock’s Second Season Unveils Its Promotional Video
On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, the anime’s official website shares its second promotional video, Blue Lock vs. U-20 Japan.
As described by the Jinpachi Ego in the promotional video, players must go through the Third Selection program before facing off against U-20. This selection program will effectively try out eleven players for the match against the U-20 Japan National Team.
Seemingly, out of 35 players from the Second Selection Arc, six of the best players were automatically selected in the starting eleven. The six players are Seishiro Nagi, Ryusei Shido, Rin Itoshi, Tabito Karasu, Eita Otoya, and Kenyu Yukimiya.
The remaining 29 players will have to partake in the selection program, where they will play alongside the best six players. The player who performs the best will selected for the remaining five spots in the starting eleven.
