Yuto Suzuki’s much awaited anime adaptation of the manga Sakamoto Days has been slated for a January 2025 release. With its teaser release, Sakamoto Days has fixed its place in being one of the top anticipated animes of 2025.
This Shonen manga adaptation has apparently exceeded the expectations of the orginal manga fans with its animation and score. After Dan Da Dan’s successful run, anime fans are quite expectant of another Shonen anime which starts right off from the new year.
The anime has also been announced for season 2 release in summer of 2025, while season 1 is confirmed to air on January 11, 2025 with one episode to be aired each week.

Studio behind the anime
The very famous TMS Entertainment Studio that is well-known for its work on Detective Conan, Fruits Basket and Dr.Stone is behind Sakamoto Days as well.
The manga illustrated by Yuto Suzuki was serialised in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine – Weekly Shonen Jump since it’s initial run form November 2020, with 16 volumes to its name.

The plot of Sokomoto Days is as such:
“Tarou Sakamoto was considered the greatest hitman of all time. Feared by many, he stood at the top of the underground world until he met and fell in love with a woman. As a result, Sakamoto abandoned his life of crime and now works as a convenience store clerk.
Leaving his shady past behind proves more difficult than Sakamoto initially imagined. Many of his former rivals and partners do not believe that he has truly left the business and show up in hopes of taking him out. Barred from killing, Sakamoto must find creative ways to subdue his enemies and prevent them from bringing harm to his family, his store, and the small town he resides in.”
