Another Horror-themed manga series is confirmed for an anime adaptation. This Monster Wants to Eat Me, written by Sai Naekawa, has been published in ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Maoh magazine. The Yuri Horror manga will be adapted into an animated series and it will be released in 2025. A teaser and visual for This Monster Wants to Eat Me anime are out with the official release date, and the main cast has been revealed as well.

This Monster Wants to Eat Me manga is available in both English and Japanese. The manga is in its 8th volume and the next volume will be out soon. Studio Lings will produce the animated series and they have released a character art for the horror show. The Yuri Horror show is a story of a young girl who meets a supernatural character and how they fulfil their wishes.

Sai Naekawa, the illustrator of the original manga released the visual and trailer of “This Monster Wants to Eat Me“. The trailer confirms the Yuri Horror show will be released in 2025. The anime will premiere in the second half of 2025, and an official update regarding the same will be revealed by Studio Lings in the coming weeks.

This Monster Wants to Eat Me Anime – Story

This Monster Wants to Eat Me is a horror story featuring two girls Hinako Yaotose and Shiori Oumi. Hinako Yaotose is a young girl who lost her parents in an accident. Yaotose doesn’t want to live without her parents and she plans to commit suicide. One day, Hinako Yaotose meets a mermaid named Shiori Oumi who reveals that Yaotose’s blood is special and her flash can be tasted by yōkai.

When Hinako Yaotose reveals her story to Shiori Oumi, the mermaid offers to help her. Shiori Oumi also asks the girl to wait for some days before the sea monster can eat her. Both the girls travel together and they spend time at sea. Hinako Yaotose likes the mermaid who also protects the girl from other sea creatures and monsters. After losing her parents and brother, Hinako Yaotose decides to spend time with the yokai and she finds out interesting secrets about the sea monsters. In the end, they both become closer, but Shiori Oumi has only one option and she decides to eat the young girl.

This Monster Wants to Eat Me Anime – Cast & Crew

The official cast and crew for ‘This Monster Wants to Eat Me’ anime are revealed. The horror anime will be directed by Naoyuki Kuzuya of the Bikini Warriors (2015) fame. Keiji Inai has been roped in as the music composer for the show. The story and screenplay will be written by Yūsuke Suzuki and Mitsutaka Hirota.
