Demon Slayer(Kimetsu no Yaiba) : All 9 Pillers Ranked From Weakest to Strongest | AnimeKing

Welcome to AnimeKing ,today I’m going to be ranking the nine pillars of demon slayer from weakest to strongest this is a pretty daunting undertaking but I will take a crack at  it let’s jump into it in.

9) Shinobu Kocho (The Insect Hashira)

The insect pillar, now keep in mind all these characters are strong and skilled. Social noble is not weak, but I would rank her below the other pillars in terms of strength. Unlike most demon slayers, Shinobu does not possess the physical strength to cut off a demon’s head. However, Shinobu can still fight using her speed and poison. In her final battle against Upper Moon Two, Doma, the demon commented on how fashionable she is. He complimented her speed and even said that she might be the fastest pillar he’s met so far, which is a huge compliment. She’s killed many lesser demons with her poison, but her usual poison is not very effective against Doma. She had to sacrifice herself in order to help defeat him. She consumed small amounts of demon poison over a long period of time and eventually was overflowing with it. She purposely let herself be consumed by Doma in order to poison him. This eventually weakened him enough for Inosuke and Kanao to defeat him. So, Shinobu was good at strategizing, but unfortunately, her last strategy included sacrificing her own life. She was definitely an entertaining character and helped pull off one of the best revenge moments in anime, but in terms of strength, I have to put her below the other pillars.

8) Tengen Uzui(The sound Hashira)

We have the 23-year-old Tengen, usually referred to as the former Sound Pillar. Unlike most of the other pillars that followed, Tengen did not manifest the Demon Slayer Mark, which means he didn’t get the significant power upgrade that marked ones did. Besides that, even before we take marks into account, Tengen had trouble dealing with the weakest Upper Moon, Upper Moon Six Gyutaro. He needed a significant amount of help from others, including Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Nezuko, and his wives, to defeat Gyutaro and his sister Daki. It cost Tengen a hand and an eye to distract Gyutaro long enough for Tanjiro to cut his head off. Then, Tengen had to be saved by Nezuko’s flames, which burned the poison out of his system. Some of the following pillars on this list, as we shall see, could kill a stronger Upper Moon all by themselves without losing any body parts.

Iguro, the Snake Pillar, was not impressed when he heard what happened. He even asked Tengen what he was thinking, losing his arm and an eye to the weakest Upper Moon. Iguro assessed that he didn’t even know how much help Tengen needed just to survive. Tengen says he can’t fight anymore and that he’s retiring. At one point in the past, one of his wives was even talking about them retreating from the front lines after they defeated an Upper Moon, so this seemed to have always been the plan. Tengen is strong but not that strong compared to the other pillars. He knows that people like Muichiro and Gyomei are way more talented than he is. Tengen wants to retire and spend more time with his three beautiful wives, and who can blame him?

 7) Mitsuri Kanroji (The Love Hashira)

We have the 19-year-old Mitsuri, who, unlike the two previously mentioned Pillars, is still an active Pillar. Mitsuri, the Love Pillar, awakens her Demon Slayer Mark while fighting against Upper Moon Four. She’s able to fight the powerful clone of Upper Moon Four, Hantengu, while Tanjiro, Genya, and Nezuko hunt down and cut the real body. Not only does Mitsuri distract the powerful clone long enough for the others to kill the original, but she also does it without experiencing serious injuries. That’s truly impressive, and for that reason, I had to put Mitsuri with a Demon Slayer Mark above Tengen. However, when it comes to the fight against Muzan, Mitsuri is the first of the Pillars to sustain a serious injury. She can’t keep up with the others and has to be saved and taken to safety by Iguro, who loves her. Still, Mitsuri is the strongest female Pillar in the series, and it took the Demon King himself, the strongest demon, to finally defeat her.

6) Giyu Tomioka (The Water Hashira)

We have the 21-year-old Water Pillar, Giyu Tomioka. Although you could potentially argue that he’s stronger than my number 5, we’ll get to that later. Giyu seemed incredibly strong near the beginning of the series. He took out Lower Moon Five, Rui, the demon that was giving Tanjiro and Nezuko so much trouble, like it was nothing. However, as time went on and Tanjiro got stronger and we were introduced to the other Pillars, Giyu eventually stopped seeming so strong. Giyu, in fact, doesn’t even think he deserves to be the Water Pillar. In his view, he never passed the final exam; he only survived because he was saved by Sabito, who pretty much single-handedly defeated every demon on that mountain. He died protecting everyone so that everyone just passed by default without really doing anything. Giyu just got injured by a demon near the beginning and then passed without killing even one demon. He clearly wasn’t as talented as Sabito at this point. However, Giyu did get stronger after the selection, and he even created his own new Breath of Water move called “Calm.” It is not until the fight against Upper Moon Three, Akaza, that we finally began to see what Giyu is truly capable of. During the fight against Akaza, Giyu’s Demon Slayer Mark awakened, but he still couldn’t match Akaza’s power. In fact, it was Tanjiro who ended up surpassing Giyu, at least temporarily, with his non-self state. Akaza eventually died after Tanjiro cut off his head, but only because Akaza had decided it was his time to go. Later, Giyu would go on to fight with the other Pillars against Muzan. Mitsuri was the first to be taken out, then Giyu lost his sword and needed help from Iguro, Gyomei, and Sanemi. He was strong, but in both the fight against Akaza and the fight against Muzan, he lagged behind his fellow fighters.

5) Kyojuro Rengoku (The Flame Hashira)

We had the 20-year-old Rengoku, the Flame Pillar. It may seem weird to you that I’d put Rengoku, who did not manifest a Demon Slayer Mark, ahead of Giyu, who did. However, I think that, as of now, Rengoku still deserves to go above Giyu. While Giyu struggled against Akaza, even though he had a much stronger Tanjiro to help and a Demon Slayer Mark, Rengoku did amazingly well without those things. He even had the added distraction of having to protect others who were too weak to help at that point. Akaza was consistently impressed by Rengoku during their fight. He praised Rengoku much more than he praised Giyu during their fight. Akaza commented on Rengoku’s amazing speed, wonderful sword technique, and so on. He was so impressed by Rengoku’s strength that he begged him throughout the fight to become a demon because he thought it would be such a waste if he died. Even with a pierced gut, Rengoku could muster “unbelievable power,” to use Akaza’s words. Akaza was not strong enough to break free from Rengoku’s grip, so he had to sever his own arms to run away as the sun was coming up. As a result, Rengoku succeeded in protecting everyone else, just like he said he would. Yes, Rengoku died, so Giyu will likely surpass him eventually if he keeps growing. However, the way Rengoku fought against an opponent as strong as Akaza without any help or a Demon Slayer Mark was truly remarkable. After Rengoku’s death, Tengen commented that even Rengoku lost to an Upper Moon, which suggests he is among the strongest Pillars. Upper Moons are usually expected to be stronger than Pillars since they live for centuries, after all. Nonetheless, Iguro said he couldn’t believe that Rengoku lost against the third strongest Upper Moon. It is clear that even among the Pillars, Rengoku was held in high regard.

4) Muichiro Tokito (The Mist Hashira)

We have the 14-year-old Mist Pillar, Muichiro. There is a reason that Tengen thinks of Muichiro and Gyomei first when he thinks of Demon Slayers with a lot of natural talent. At only 14, Muichiro achieved an insane level of power. We talked about how Tengen struggled with Upper Moon Six, even though he had a lot of help. Well, Muichiro defeated the stronger Upper Moon Five completely on his own after he awakened his Demon Slayer Mark. He wrecked him. Muichiro was also instrumental in the fight against the strongest Upper Moon, Kokushibo, who was Muichiro’s ancestor. At first, Muichiro couldn’t do much against Kokushibo, but later, with Gyomei and Sanemi’s help, Muichiro succeeded in stabbing Kokushibo. It was revealed that Muichiro had access to the See-Through World, a trait he shares with some of the strongest Demon Slayers in the series like Yoriichi, Gyomei, and Tanjiro. Furthermore, he was the first Pillar whose blade turned red, the color that represents the power of the sun and is super effective against demons. He sacrificed his life in the fight against Kokushibo, but the wound Muichiro inflicted seemed to spread and destroy Kokushibo once and for all, although Kokushibo also started to question himself, which played a role in his eventual downfall. Muichiro, in my view, had more natural talent than Sanemi, but he died at the extremely young age of 14 before he could fully realize it. Keep in mind, he was even younger than Tanjiro. Muichiro’s life was cut short so early, while Sanemi had ample combat experience and continued to grow chapter-by-chapter. For this reason, I decided to put the Wind Pillar ahead of Muichiro on this list.

3) Sanemi Shinazugawa (The Wind Hashira)

We have the 21-year-old Wind Pillar, Sanemi. When fighting against Sanemi and Gyomei, Kokushibo noticed that these two were very skilled even among the Pillars. Sanemi has insane recovery abilities and manages to survive even after receiving wounds that would have killed pretty much anyone else. He even went on to fight strong opponents after receiving such serious wounds. He survived the fight against Kokushibo, although he had to be saved by the Rock Pillar, Gyomei, on occasion. By the end of the fight, Sanemi had lost consciousness but was still fighting against Muzan. Sanemi has been keeping up with Gyomei and Iguro. As mentioned, Mitsuri and Giyu were the ones who lagged behind. So far, perhaps Sanemi should even be second on this list, but I will tell you why I placed Iguro ahead of him.

2) Obanai Iguro (The Serpent Hashira)

We have Obanai Iguro. This may shock you, especially since in the data book, he is the physically weakest Pillar after Shinobu. However, there’s a lot more to overall strength than just muscles. Iguro has been keeping up with Muzan’s attacks along with Gyomei and Sanemi. He was doing this before he even manifested his Demon Slayer Mark. As of Chapter 189, Iguro had just manifested his Demon Slayer Mark. Furthermore, he turned his blade red like Muichiro when he helped defeat Kokushibo. If he was keeping up with the others before, you can bet he’s going to be OP now with his newly manifested Demon Slayer Mark, which should give him a significant power upgrade. Mangakas usually save big power upgrades for last to build anticipation, so it’s likely that Iguro will become very strong since he is the last living Pillar to manifest one. Plus, he is currently the only one with the red sword, and red swords are super effective against demons. Beyond that, he’s fighting in part for Mitsuri, so the power of love may even push him to further heights. However, it would be too early to put him above Gyomei, who is recognized by all to be the strongest Pillar.

1) Gyomei Himejima (The Stone Hashira)

As mentioned, we have the 27-year-old Rock Pillar, Gyomei Hime

jima. Tanjiro and Inosuke could immediately sense his power. Kokushibo knew he was the strongest Pillar, even stronger than Sanemi. He is the one who turned the tide in the battle against Kokushibo and even had time to help Sanemi while fighting the strongest Upper Moon. He has access to the See-Through World, and his weapon turned red after Muichiro’s during the battle against Kokushibo, but it is back to normal right now. However, as for the last time, the fact that Iguro’s weapon turned red might mean that the weapons of the other Pillars may follow suit and turn red too in the upcoming chapters. In short, there is a reason Kokushibo said he hadn’t encountered such a strong fighter like Gyomei in the last 300 years. Not only was Gyomei born with natural talent, but he has also honed his natural gifts to their absolute peak, according to Kokushibo. This giant among Pillars will no doubt be crucial in the fight against Muzan.
